Got engaged.
Went to London and Barcelona for a week.
Came back.
Got awesome hat.
Saw the following movies:
- Max Payne (sucks)
- James Bond: Quantum of Solace (ok)
- Just Like Heaven (apart from Jon Heder, painful)
- Låt den rätte komma in (ok)
New games:
- Fallout 3 (very good)
- Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (awesome)
- Red Alert 3 (this url: David Hasselhoff)
New Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) is pretty good so far.
The LG Viewty sucks because it can’t handle the interactive answering machine everybody seem to love installing nowadays. Or maybe it can, but it still sucks because it’s not intuitive enough for me to find out. Needs new phone.
Current state of affairs: Not awesome.
A few weeks back, I both received and played Mass Effect to my heart’s content. The story and gameplay was awesome. So awesome, in fact, that I decided to upgrade my graphics card to a GeForce 9600GT in order to bask in the glory that is its awesomeness. Besides, it gave my better framerate in TF2. The card was so big, I had to rearrange the internals of my computer.
While Mass Effect was a great game, I couldn’t help but get annoyed at the amount of time spent trying to get the game running. For some reason, the game plainly refused to run, kept throwing me back to the desktop. Even after scouring through the official forum for solutions, an official patch, and an official expansion pack that refused to install, it was still denying me the entertainment that I had bought with my own money. Then it dawned on me, I downloaded a crack for the game and voilà: The game ran. SecuROM bullshit!
Over the past few weeks, not much outside of school (and gaming of course, finally finished F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and Super Mario Galaxy!) happened. Still writing my master’s thesis, and things are going slowly.
No fun clips this time around.
PS. Damn host keeps disconnecting me all the time. Where’s my maintenance report?! *grumbles*
So yeah, the trip to Budapest last week was pretty cool. It was kind of like Prague, only … cozier, and a lot warmer. We arrived at the airport to 32 degrees Celsius! Getting back to Norway, and Trondheim, was pretty nice as well. The last few weeks has been hectic and it’s nice to finally being back in the tranquility of my dorm room.
I’ve finally decided to order Mass Effect. I might need to upgrade my graphics card as well but decided against it because of upcoming graphics chips. Hopefully, the older models will get cheaper (or maybe the new models are cheap enough for me to grab one).
Finally found this clip after seeing it on a Japanese TV show two years ago:
I couldn’t get the second song (at 2:14) out of my head for quite some time. Browsing the related clips, I eventually arrived at this clip:
In other news, I’ve just received a job offer from Ementor. The contract is on its way, but the offer seems promising enough.
It’s raining.
In an effort to keep myself somewhat updated in the music world, I am frustrated by how many new artists out there that I’ve never heard of. Dashboard Confessional, The Kooks, MGMT… how come I haven’t heard of these earlier?
A trip to Prague lasted from the 6th till yesterday. It was fun, though I didn’t get to see much of the city itself. The grown-ups spent most of their time in the Viet markets they found there. The markets are an exact copy of how markets generally are in Viet Nam. It’s almost uncanny. I probably missed out on half of the things I wanted to see because of that.
I saw The Dark Knight yesterday. It was friggin’ awesome. I’m going to see it tonight as well, in a bigger and better theatre. It’ll be even more awesome than friggin’ awesome.
I went to Berlin with Genki Gaijin Squad from Wednesday last week until Sunday. It was awesome hot. The site has been updated with our latest adventures.
Anyways, finally got a new phone. A LG KU990 “Viewty”. It should feed my techno hunger for a while, or at least until HTC releases Touch Diamond II or something.
On a totally unrelated note: Here’s an example of how cheap Norway can be…
<picture pending>
That’s right. 99 Norwegian kroner, or 19.23 US Dollars, for a bottle of some artesian water. Picture was taken at Deli de Luca at Nationaltheatret in case you want to go and see for yourself.
Changed theme to Upstart Blogger Purus 0.1.1 Upstart Blogger Minim 1.0 by Robert Ellis. I simply don’t feel like doing anything at the moment. Finally got Super Paper Mario today, but I’m already too busy with Super Mario Galaxy (it’s awesome).
Found this clip while reading some news:
Are Americans Really That Stupid? – The funniest home videos are here
Pretty much what I experienced while I went to school there many aeons ago.
On another note: CSI Miami
I haven’t been able to do anything ever since the last exam. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve become sick of everything or that I’m just plain lazy. Either way, I don’t like it. It is not a good position to be in. All I’ve managed to do so far is to install Arch Linux on both the new laptop and the desktop computer in my room in Oslo. Also, Ubuntu on my parents’ media center. XD (I’ve become such a geek.)
I got a new Wii back from service. It happened pretty quick too, within a few days. Finally finished The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (it was friggin’ awesome). I also managed to find copies of Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy on sale. I ordered the latter one some days after the former but got it first (stupid shop). At least I’ll keep myself entertained this summer.
A month back I managed to brick my N80 with some Hotmags. I was playing with them while waiting for Team Fortress 2 to load and put them down next to the phone. An hour or two later, it stopped responding. So now I’m on the lookout for a new mobile. Current contenders: HTC Touch Diamond, … I’ll probably add some more later.
Otherwise, both my sisters are in Europe. One in Norway, the other in the UK. Girlfriend is in the US, and most of my friends are not in Oslo. Yup.
PS. Job seeking sucks.
Been looking around for a proper theme for my blog and found AjaxBerlee. It’s heavily based on AJAX and, although it gracefully degrades where JavaScript is disabled, it just seemed way too clunky for my taste. So what you see here now, is a slimmed and toned down version of it.
As of currently, searching and writing comments don’t work (not that any of you were around to notice). But for now, the most important functions are working.
In other news, I’ve finally finished Experts in Team and am currently studying hard for my exam (not). I only have one this year. Unless I decide to go through with a PhD, my last one ever. I should be studying for it (as I should think more about my master’s thesis) but alas.
My Wii’s glitching, so I will have to get it replaced when I get back to home.
I’ve finished up a few Nintendo DS games I had laying around.
The World Ends with You is a good game.
Oh, and then there’s TF2.
